Send a report from the app
The fastest way to get help is from inside Promptuoso, because it sends the details we need.
- Open Settings > Help.
- Choose Report a problem or suggest something.
- Pick Problem or Suggestion, describe what happened in any language, and add your steps.
- Optionally attach a screenshot and tick Include diagnostic files. Choose See what's included to check everything before it goes. Diagnostics never contain your library text, clipboard, keys or tokens.
- Press Send. You get a ticket number straight away and our reply by email.
No connection? The report waits on your PC and sends itself when you are back online. Prefer not to send? Choose Save as file instead.

Installing
How do I install Promptuoso?
Download the Windows or Mac installer from the download page and run it. Promptuoso starts with a short welcome that starts your 14-day trial or lets you paste a licence key.
Windows shows a SmartScreen warning. Is that normal?
Yes. The installer is not signed with a paid Windows certificate, so Windows asks before running it. Select More info, then Run anyway. Once installed, the app verifies the signature of every update before it installs.
Where does Promptuoso keep my library?
In its own data folder on your PC. Choose a different folder in Settings if you like. Folders inside OneDrive, Google Drive or Dropbox are not accepted for the local library, so a sync client never touches it mid-write.
How do I uninstall?
Use Windows Apps. The uninstaller has a box, Also delete my library, backups and sign-ins on this computer, unticked by default. Tick it to remove everything on this PC. Cloud copies and folders you chose are never touched.
Does it start with Windows?
You can turn that on in Settings. The text expander starts watching on every launch.
Using text expansion
Why doesn't an abbreviation expand in one program?
Check Settings > Expansion and Typing > Active apps: that program may be on your excluded list. Password managers are excluded by default. Programs running as administrator can limit what any text tool can do.
Why did it paste my old clipboard?
Increase Wait longer in the expansion settings. Windows Clipboard History reads the clipboard each time it changes, and a slightly longer wait gives the paste time to land.
Can I bring my snippets from another text expander?
Yes. Use Import and export in Settings. Other tools' block syntax is accepted on import.
Sync
How do I sync between my PCs?
Open Settings > Sync and backup > Library and sync. Choose OneDrive or Google Drive, then Direct sync (a folder your own OneDrive or Google Drive app uploads) or Cloud sync (sign in). Choose Keep on this machine only if you prefer. Your data goes to your own cloud account. We never receive it.
What permissions does Cloud sync ask for?
Google Drive: only drive.file, which reaches only files Promptuoso created. OneDrive: only the app's own folder. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
Two PCs disagree. Which wins?
Your local edit. Promptuoso shows what differs in version history and lets you choose.
How do I disconnect?
Settings > Sync and backup. You can also remove Promptuoso from your Google or Microsoft account permissions. Your files already in the cloud stay until you delete them.
What does Remove from this PC only do?
It removes an item from this computer and leaves it on your others. Delete everywhere removes it from all of them.
MCP and AI apps
How do I connect Claude Code, Codex, Gemini or Cursor?
Open Settings > MCP access. Turn on what the AI apps may do (read, edit, suggest), then press Set up next to your AI app. Promptuoso runs that app's own add command. Cursor has a copy-settings option instead. Re-run it any time from the same screen.
Do I need to pay Promptuoso for AI?
No. Promptuoso uses the AI subscriptions and API keys you already have.
An AI app says Promptuoso has no tools. Check that MCP access is on, that the AI app is restarted after set-up, and that it shows the promptuoso server in its MCP list.
What can AI apps change?
Only what you allow. Pick an approval mode in Settings > MCP access: Ask every time, My list, Auto, or Bypass. Every change can be undone from the assistant-changes list. Privacy settings, sync settings and the excluded-apps list can never be changed by an AI app.
An AI app hit its usage limit during an AI team run. Usage limits belong to your AI plan. Start the run again once your AI app is available. Sessions that wait out a limit and carry on by themselves are coming soon.
Licence and devices
How many devices can I use?
Two desktops (Windows or Mac, in any mix) and two phones at the same time. An extra desktop seat is ₹499. The licence is tied to the email you bought with.
How do I activate?
Paste your licence key in the welcome step, or in Settings > Help > About > Licence.
How do I move my licence to a new PC?
Deactivate the old one in Settings > Help > About > Licence, then activate the new one.
Does the app check my licence online?
It checks once when you activate and then every 30 days.
What happens when my trial ends?
Promptuoso carries on as the free version, up to 25 items, and keeps everything you made.
I lost my licence email. Write to support@promptuoso.com from the address you bought with, or sign in to your account on this website, where your licence key is kept.
Refunds and invoices
What is the refund policy?
30 days from purchase. Write to support@promptuoso.com and the money goes back to the original payment method, through Razorpay or Freemius, whichever took the payment.
Where are my invoices?
If you paid through Freemius, it sends your receipt and keeps your invoices in your Freemius account. If you paid in India through Razorpay, your order is in your account on this website, and we send your GST invoice when you write to support@promptuoso.com with your order number.
Vaults
I forgot my vault password. Use the recovery route you chose when you created it: this device, or your recovery code. If both are lost, nobody can open the vault, by design.
Platforms
Is there a Mac, Android or iPhone version?
Mac and Android launch with Windows, and iPhone follows. One licence covers them all: 2 desktops and 2 phones. See Download.
